Roles and Responsibilities

RPA Developer / RPA Technical Lead

The developer or RPA Technical Lead is responsible for the technical development and preparation of the service release.

Responsibilities include:

  • Developing the application code.
  • Following the Python and Docker best practices adopted by the RPA team.
  • Maintaining the Docker Compose files required by the project.
  • Testing the service locally.
  • Building and publishing Docker images through CI or, when necessary, manually.
  • Preparing environment-specific configuration.
  • Storing sensitive configuration securely in Bitwarden.
  • Opening the appropriate DevOps ticket when required.
  • Performing post-release validation.
  • Updating the Move to Prod tracking file after the release is completed.

DevOps Team

The DevOps team is responsible for infrastructure-related activities on remote machines.

Depending on the release scenario, responsibilities may include:

  • Processing delivery or update requests.
  • Retrieving the required Docker Compose and configuration.
  • Installing or updating services on the target VM.
  • Configuring requested DNS entries.
  • Managing external files required by the service.
  • Verifying that the service is correctly started.
  • Supporting troubleshooting when the automated deployment process fails.

RPA Team

The RPA team owns the overall development and release process.

Responsibilities include:

  • Defining technical standards.
  • Maintaining common conventions.
  • Ensuring release traceability.
  • Maintaining shared operational information.
  • Defining supported environments and deployment practices.
