Mapping Disks in NetBox

NetBox does not have a native module dedicated to physical disks, but you have several options:

Option 1: Inventory Items (Recommended - Native)

NetBox has the Inventory Items section for each device, designed specifically for hardware components.

How to do it:

1. Go to your Device in NetBox
2. Click on Inventory Items → Add
3. Fill in the fields:
   • Name: e.g. Samsung 870 EVO 1TB
   • Manufacturer: Samsung
   • Part ID: model number
   • Serial Number: disk serial number
   • Description: e.g. SSD SATA 1TB - /dev/sda
